Goodbyes – Unsaid Words

This is not the forever I dreamt of,
I feel helpless to the turned tides…
Seeking comfort at every home,
Only to feel heavy inside.

Most beautiful memories can also be tarnished, because of a single fight.
Don’t say anything, just let it be another silent night.

It gets hard to carry when it is shattered into a million pieces,
So maybe just wrap it all together and leave…
You have bills to pay and a life to survive,
Might not get enough time to cry or properly grieve.

It takes a lot of energy to hold onto what is not meant to be,
Look at you comforting others with the words you wish to hear…
I’m sorry things turned out to be this way,
But broken relationships are better than the forced ones that you always fear.

I know you weren’t ready; but there was no place to hide.
I know you wanted to scream, but all you could manage was a heavy sigh.
I have written all about it, in a letter I never posted.
My diary knows the things that they should, no one was there to confide.

When your love wasn’t enough, do you think your words will even matter?
I know it feels terrible now, but they say with time it will get better.

This is not the forever I dreamt of
This is not what I implied
A life of endless misery.
A life of unexpected goodbyes.

When you strived to make their worries go away!

I will always keep the friendships safe for you to recall, even though they came in every shade…
I know you cherish them, and why not? That’s the only bond you’ve yourself made!

How much you loved floral and pretty little things.

You had your own phases throughout this time,
A few now embarrass you, others just make you laugh…

I’m the proof you once enjoyed being photographed.

That perfect black dress,
Or walk on the beach in moonlight…
I know you will smile when you reminisce,
The night above the waters that felt so right.

Those stories in your head, and chatter all night…
These were the times when it was easy to believe,
That one day everything will be alright.

All your life you’ve loved fairy tales and magic carts…
These were the times when you realized,
Sometimes miracles are just good people with kind hearts.

And that beautiful sunrise bliss…
Close your eyes for a moment and recall,
The way how hope in your heart feels.

And that you have nothing to regret.
You tried with everything you could,
I’ve lived all your words that were left unsaid.

The wings were not real,
Yet you somehow spread them and soar…
You used to love rains,
But things are not the same anymore.

Goodbyes were always hard,
You tried not to cry every time you were out the door…
Remember how you turned your head one last time,
To capture the image of people you used to see every day before.

There will always be many – “You don’t take a stand” & “You always have your way”,
Please remember,
That you are not defined by what other people have to say.

You have always worked very hard,
For each and everything that you wanted to do…
You have become your own person,
I’m fully aware of the struggles you had to go through.

You fear losing me,
